Tucked inside a larger recreation complex in Metairie, this off-leash area can take a few tries to locate the first time. Once inside, dogs have access to both gravel and grass surfaces, water fountains, and a hose for rinsing off muddy paws after a romp. Sizes are separated and the shaded layout lends itself to a calm, social atmosphere. Maintenance can be inconsistent — overflowing trash cans and empty waste bag dispensers come up in visitor reviews often enough to be worth noting.
