Mature trees provide real shade over the wood-chip ground at this Modesto off-leash park, which has separate sections for large and small dogs along with water fountains, waste bags, benches, and a parking lot. The atmosphere is generally friendly and the space is kept reasonably clean. One recurring complaint is drainage — after rain, some areas can stay wet and muddy for a while.
